Kevin Morlock Joins CarpPro Team
Beaver Island Carp Guide Locks Down Pro-Staff Role
Feb 6, 2014 - Round Rock, TX — CarpPro is proud to announce the addition of Kevin Morlock to its pro-staff team. Kevin has been a full-time fly-fishing guide in Michigan for 10 years where he operates Indigo Guide Service along with Steve Martinez, and their blog, ThirdCoastFly.com. Kevin has a long list of magazine and television appearances to his professional credits, including In-Fisherman Magazine, In-Fisherman Television and more and, in 2007, he became one of only 650 people in the last 35 years to complete, the Iditarod sled race.
"I first heard about carp on a fly from friends that were chasing them around Traverse City," explains Kevin. "I didn't give them a try myself until I heard from another friend about a carp spot he found in the UP (Upper Peninsula) of Michigan. That night I went home, packed my camping gear and headed for the UP first thing in the morning. I drove right were he said to, tied on the recommended fly (black Wooly Bugger), waded into the water, saw a carp, made the cast and caught it -- and I've been madly chasing them ever since. Most often with much less success than that first fish."
Kevin spends his summers as a full-time carp guide on beautiful Beaver Island - truly one of the top carp destination angling hotspots in the country.
"If you haven't visited Beaver yet, you need to," he adds.
CarpPro is excited that Kevin has agreed to join the team. His knowledge, talents and visibility will do much for the sport and for CarpPro.
"Kevin is one of the most recognizable names in the business," says Dan Frasier, CarpPro owner and fly-fishing pro-team manager. "He is a sought-after guide, an expert carp angler, a thinker, a writer, and a thorough professional, and we are thrilled to be able to add him to our team."
"CarpPro has brought the top carp anglers together to produce cutting edge, quality information and I'm honored to now be part of this great team," adds Kevin.
Please join us in giving Kevin a very warm welcome to the CarpPro team.
