~~CarpPro Adds Chicago Waters~~
Illinois-Based Wildwater Specialist Michael Waters Joins ProStaff

Aug 7, 2014 - Round Rock, TX - CarpPro is proud to announce that Michael Waters has joined its team of pro-staff anglers. Waters, who lives near Chicago, Illinois, has signed a prostaff contract on a standard 3-year term to represent CarpPro in the key MidWest region.

Waters has lived in the Chicago area his whole life. He classifies himself as a multi species angler although he targets specimen carp 95-percent of the time. He started fishing at 7 years of age under the watchful eye of his Grandma, who he credits as his biggest influence.

"Grandma was the angler of the family," says Waters. "She took us out as much as she could. She always asked to see photos of the specimen fish I caught. She taught me that the simple approach will always out-do the complicated version. I still base all my fishing on this thought process and it has not let me down yet."

"We're thrilled to welcome Michael to the team," said David Smith, CarpPro owner and manager of the wildwater pro staff. "He comes highly recommended by other pro-staffers and I can see why. He's an accomplished angler and communicator who will work hard to promote US carp angling on the bank and in our magazine. We look forward to him representing CarpPro and our partners."

Waters local venues include a few smaller lakes and the shipping canal, with lots of decent swims containing doubles easily available. With bigger fish proving rare locally, Waters has turned his attention to the St Lawrence River.

"The St. Lawrence is my favorite venue of all time," he says. "I've been there over a dozen times and each time I look forward to the next trip before I even arrive home. The river chose me, not the other way around!"

With a new family, balancing priorities has been taken to a new level for Waters.

"I still go for other species than carp, but carp is my target 95% of the time. Venue and time allowed usually dictate what species I go for, but I do think carp all day long."

"I'm ambitious to become a better angler each and every time I fish," he adds. "I strive to be humble and professional along the way. Growing in the angling sense is imperative for the sport and the longevity for any team or club. I want to be a part of CarpPro for that reason. I see growth within the team and they uphold a level of professionalism and forward-thinking that I think carp fishing needs in this country. It is an honor to be a part of this team and I look forward to growing with them."

Please join us in giving Michael a warm welcome to the CarpPro team and look for his captures and articles as they appear in the magazine and our social media outlets.
